Timberwolves Second Half Rally Falls Short Against Kellogg
Petoskey, MI – The Timberwolves (0-6) showed tremendous fight in the second half, outscoring Kellogg CC (5-1) but couldn’t over a large first-half deficit, ultimately falling 77-66.
North Central struggled to find their rhythm early, falling into a 0-16 start on the game. However, the Timberwolves came out energized in the second, pouring in 42 points – three more than Kellogg’s 39.
The rally was spearheaded by NCMC’s sharpshooting guards. Ryan Ehlert (Pembine/Northland College) led all shooters with a game high 25 points. Ehlert wad deadly from beyond the arc, sinking 4 three-pointer in four consecutive possessions. This 12-2 run for the Timberwolves would bring the game within 6 points, but with time dwindling down and Kellogg hitting the necessary free throws it wouldn’t be enough for North Central to fully execute the comeback.
Statistical Leaders
- Ehlert led all scorers with 25 points, including 6 three-pointers.
- Gavin Goetz (Cadillac/Cadillac) had 17 points.
- On the defensive end, De’Machae McDowell (Washington DC/The Living Water School) set a new school record with 7 blocks!
