Bio

Nandy Lukusa Jr. was named head coach of the Timberwolves Men's Basketball program in July of 2025 after serving as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Muskingum University for a year.

Lukusa Jr., a Northern MI native, is no stranger to the Petoskey community. He graduated from Traverse City West Senior High School (TCW) in 2017, after playing varsity basketball all four years there. During his time as a Titan, he helped knock two talented Petoskey teams out of the District Playoffs in back-to-back seasons; he also won four straight district championships as a Titan, from 2013-2017.

His career started at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) on the women's side, where he spent two seasons with Robyn Fralick. Fralick, an Otsego native, is now the head women's basketball coach at Michigan State University. Lukusa Jr. graduated from Bowling Green at the same time he was coaching, receiving his Master's Degree in Sport Administration.

At the conclusion of his time at Bowling Green, he spent a year in the high school game returning to his alma mater, TCW. During the 2023/2024 season, he helped lead the TCW boys varsity basketball team to a 20-win season and helped capture another district title for the program. He also spent that season serving as the associate head girls varsity basketball coach.

Lukusa Jr. isn't just bringing coaching experience to NCMC. He'll also be taking on the role of Sports Information Director (SID), aided by his time spent on the administrative side of sport.
